A glimpse of the city…

I am my mother’s daughter…

The original castle was destroyed in an earthquake...

It's named after me!

What is left of the Spanish architecture is crumbling...

Sadly, graffiti is everywhere.

Hey Kira Lenore – this is your dad!
Grandpa is over here, and we got a chance to check out your website. It looks really cool!

Have I told you lately that you’re grounded until you’re 30, and I have Grandpa’s permission? Anyways, love the pictures, glad you guys are doing good.

By the way, we’re having a Monday Night Football cookout with Dad, Grandpa, Jeff, Justy, and Jon (typing). Just thought we’d write you.

Grandpa is glad to see you’re getting along, but misses your phone calls because Jon doesn’t have a telephone. How long are you working lately? We will be missing you and Lu at Christmas.

Hope things are good, and take care of yourself!

Hi Kiki and Al. So far it sounds like a wonderful time…and the pictures are awesome. Just in case you find more slugs, I am attaching a recipe 🙂

    Slug Fritters
10 freshly slaughtered slugs cleaned of all outer mucous
    1/2 cup of cornmeal
1/2 cup of high protein flour
    3 eggs
    2 egg yolks
    1/4 cup of heavy cream
    4 tbs. Of butter
    4tsp.of sour cream

First chop the slugs into fine mince, then beat the eggs and egg yolks with the heavy cream together. Sift the dry ingredients and then cut 2 tbs of butter into that mixture. Add the egg and cream mixture to the dry ingredients and whip with a whisk vigorously for one to two minutes. Melt one tbs of butter in a sauté pan and pure the batter into 2 1/2 inch cakes in two batches. Serve warm with a dollop of sour cream.
    Yields 4 servings.

What can I say dear other than give it a try! I hope you continue to enjoy all of the people and experiances ~ you deserve it. And never forget that you are loved… Always, Karen
